In September 2022, the analytical infrastructure of the Department of Environmental Magnetism and Reclamation was equipped with the new Olympus DSX 1000 digital microscope. With this device it is possible to carry out detailed studies on the morphology of different types of particles.

On 7 October 2022, the 18th edition of the Science Day took place in the Historical Water Tower in Zabrze. A team of scientists from our Institute (MS. Maria Szuszkiewicz, PhD Małgorzata Wawer, PhD Michał Bućko and PhD Adam Łukasik) presented devices for measuring soil pollution in the field using modern magnetic techniques.

The RS-Lab research team, led by Iwona Stachlewska from the Institute of Geophysics, Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw (igf.fuw.edu.pl) on December 3-23, 2021, is on a measurement campaign in Zabrze, with the task of conducting smog measurements as part of one of the campaigns POLIMOS funded by the European Space Agency (ESA-ESTEC).
