The Institute of Environmental Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences is the oldest scientific institution in Poland conducting comprehensive basic and applied research in the field of environmental engineering, covering technical, scientific, spatial, legal and economic issues. The Institute has more than 60 years of experience in scientific and applied research.
Determination of physicochemical composition of primary and secondary aerosols to assess their impact on health and the environment, determination of the impact of air pollution on climate change, determination of the amount and composition of pollutants emitted by industrial and energy facilities, with special reference to hazardous substances, testing of chemical and physical properties of chemical substances emitted into the air, determination of emission factors.
Methods of wastewater treatment and water treatment for industrial purposes, research on the recovery of nutrients from municipal and industrial wastewater, possibilities of using minerals (peat, lignite, clay, bentonite, diatomaceous earth) and waste materials as economical and effective sorbents for heavy metals and organic pollutants in the remediation of water, wastewater and soil.
Examination of the physical and chemical properties of waste, including determination of the impact of landfills on the environment and the possibility of neutralization and recovery of waste, including engineering works and reclamation, evaluation of coal mining waste and other industrial solid waste in terms of environmental impact, together with guidelines for environmentally safe use and storage, protection of the environment from adverse effects of waste.
We invite you to familiarize yourself with the analytical capabilities of our laboratory. We perform accredited analyzes of water, wastewater, soil and waste, as well as measurements of gas and dust concentrations of air pollutants.
Within the scope of its activities, the Institute provides market-related services to companies, public administrations and local authorities. In cooperation with companies, planning offices and administrative bodies, the Institute conducts research.
